Recovery Support Programs
Bridging Therapy and Real Life
Individuals and their support networks often benefit from hands-on, practical assistance to put strategies into action in everyday life.
At Transforming Life in Change (TLC), we offer specialised recovery support programs designed to build capacity and foster independence. Delivered by our skilled Therapy Assistants, these programs provide a cost-effective way to receive consistent, professional support tailored to daily living needs.

What's involved in a Recovery Support Program?
Our programs, crafted by qualified mental health professionals, focus on enhancing your confidence and abilities in areas such as:
- Social Skills and Capacity: Building meaningful connections and navigating social environments.
- Communication and Emotion Regulation: Expressing yourself effectively and managing emotional responses.
- Healthy Relationships: Developing and maintaining supportive interpersonal relationships.
- Self-Care and Life Skills: Mastering daily tasks like meal planning, cooking, and household management.
These programs draw on a foundation of evidence-based therapies—such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Choice Theory, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Compassion-Focused Therapy—offering a well-rounded, holistic approach to personal growth and recovery.

Our Programs

My Best-Self program aims to support people to enter meaningful and long-term employment. It is a communication and interpersonal skills development program.
The My Best Self program is led by professional counsellors and psychologists who are there to help you succeed.
To begin, you will meet with one of the team for a get to know you and to complete a personality quiz, then you will work through the program with a counsellor.
My Best Self supports people to feel the confidence of knowing and understanding your best self, get the skills you need to succeed in work or study and getting on with others and making new friends. By the end of the program you will be able to answer;
- What motivates you?
- What interests you?
- Know how to get the best out of yourself?
- How to communicate with friends and work mates?
- How can you present yourself confidently?
Overcoming the barriers of anxiety!
For many, anxiety or panic attacks can make everyday activities feel overwhelming—limiting your ability to participate in the world the way you’d like to.
This program is designed to help you understand and manage these challenges by exploring:
- What triggers your anxiety
- Why your body and mind respond the way they do
- How to develop practical strategies to recognise, manage, and overcome these responses.
The program will start with two initial sessions with a psychologist to assess your needs and create a tailored support plan, and then ongoing guidance from a dedicated Counsellor and trained Therapy Assistants
This structured, stepped approach helps build confidence, develop coping skills, and gradually reduce the impact of anxiety—so you can regain independence and reconnect with life on your own terms.
How to find the light?
Living remotely or spending extended time at home can make it challenging to stay engaged, connected, and uplifted. When access to services is limited, it’s easy to feel isolated or stuck in a routine.
At Transforming Life in Change, we understand how important it is to maintain positivity and connection—especially in tough times. That’s why we’ve developed the Find the Light program: a supportive and creative initiative designed to help individuals rediscover joy, build connections, and bring more light into their everyday lives.
It all begins with a Box of Light—delivered safely to your doorstep each month.
Inside, you’ll find four weeks’ worth of uplifting activities, games, and creative prompts designed to keep things fun, meaningful, and engaging.
To support you along the way, a TLC Counsellor will check in with you twice a week—either by phone or video call—to chat, offer encouragement, and guide you through the weekly activities at your own pace.
This 12-week program is designed to build independence and boost self-confidence by equipping individuals with the skills to plan and prepare their own meals.
Using motivational interviewing and a tailored, strengths-based approach, participants develop more than just cooking skills—they also build confidence in organisation, time management, and self-care, including hygiene and cleanliness. Delivered by a trained TLC Therapy Assistant under the supervision of a psychologist, the program is structured to minimise psychosocial barriers and maximise progress, reinforcing a strong sense of personal achievement and autonomy.
This flexible, personalised program is designed to strengthen a participant’s independence in the areas of life they value most.
Whether it’s:
- budgeting
- self-care
- organising daily tasks
- accessing the community
- improving communication, or
- staying safe
The Self-Management Program supports growth at every step. Delivered by a skilled Therapy Assistant, the program uses Motivational Interviewing and visual supports tailored to each participant’s individual needs and learning style.
