FINDING THE LIGHT
.
At Transforming Life in Change we recognise the huge importance of social connecteness for emotional and mental wellbeing.

HOW DOES IT WORK?
It start’s with a Box of Light being hand-delivered to the participants home each month containing 4 weeks’ worth of activities, games and fun things to do.
The activities have been developed by our resident art therapy and counselling team to promote mindfulness, self-awareness and spark the creative mind.
Activities range from art and craft, mindfulness activities, and games that can be played over the phone and seed planting!
Additional activities and worksheets are provided as ‘In your own time’ options for in between sessions.
Once a client has been registered and approved for the program, a trained TLC Light Buddy will contact the participant and book two weekly sessions with them. This can be done over the phone, via Whatsapp or through a Zoom Video Call, whatever is easier for the participant.
The purpose of the call is to have a friendly chat, guide the client through the weeks activities and conduct a wellness check.
Wellness checks are not a formal assessment but a useful way to check in with the emotional and mental wellbeing of the client and flag any areas of concern to refer to the supervising psychologist.
Once the COVID-19 restrictions are lifted, there will be the option to have one session of the two sessions a week delivered face to face.

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?
Anyone is welcome to participate in the program. We have noticed that the program seems especially beneficial for clients who experience high levels of social isolation whether that be due to social distancing or social anxieties.
The Finding the Light program complements broader psychological and social supports by offering a ‘problem free’ space where they can engage and connect. We are a fully accredited NDIS provider.
